Oamaru Jan 2009

A group of us from Nature Photography went to Oamaru for the weekend, the weather was very hot.
We stopped along the beach road heading towards Kakanui to photograph the shags out on the cliffs.

Got my lensbaby with me ! this is the same rocks.

The first morning we intended to get up but decided nothing was going to happen colour wise so we didn't go out, only to see it change to orange when it was too late! this was a quick shot leaning out of the backpacker window with the lensbaby!
Pat, Lorraine & I had a quick look in Trotters Gorge, we walked up to the caves it was very dark in there took this lensbaby of a fern leaf.

The sunflowers were not their best and there was a breeze blowing them about.

Couldn't resist a bit of photo shop!

The second morning we were determined not to miss a sunrise again and headed along the beach road again.

I took some slow shutter speed shots of the waves on the beach

We went out to shags point and then after lunch went down on to the rocks

It was just the three of us so we had a bit of fun with photos by these giant boulders

We noticed a field of borage from the road so spent some time there.

Down at Moaraki boulders we had great fun doing timed photographs of us running on the beach & on the boulders took some lensbaby ones too. I had my camera on slow shutter speed to try & create a ghostly effect didn't really work !!

sometimes the cameras went off too early! it amused on lookers.

Another place we went to was the penguin colony out by the light house, they were great, the chicks were very hungry & persistent.

We couldn't go to Moaraki without a visit to Fluers, here's a lensbaby image of the restaurant

A great weekend
